This is a series of 3 vessels in collaboration with Tom Gattis (vessels)
Ashwood, polycotton macrame rope, and glue.
This work is the product of a show, The Secret Lives of Color, written by Kassia St. Clair. I was assigned Naples yellow. Based on Clair's research, the color Naples Yellow was found in an old german pharmacy in 3 forms powdered pigments, watercolors, and resins. Tom Gattis and I have worked together in the past and felt this would be another time where our work would seamlessly come together. This artwork intends to represent the three forms in which Naples Yellow was found and how those forms may have interacted with the vessels they occupied.
The small vessel is 6 x 9 x9.5"
The medium vessel is 10 x 9 x10"
The largest vessel is 11 x 11 x 7"
The orientation or placement of the vessel can vary.
